“Who is the fairest of them all?” Ballet Austin’s apprentice company, Ballet Austin II, answers that complicated question through a spirited retelling of the classic Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale about envy, trickery, and the power of love. This 55-minute production is perfect for families with children ages 3–10 and serves as an excellent “starter ballet” for those looking to expose young audience members to dance in a kid-friendly environment. Through our special FAMILY TIME package offering, combine tickets to Snow White at Ballet Austin’s in-house studio theater with tickets to one of our full-length family-friendly productions at the Long Center, The Nutcracker -or- A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Romance run awry is at the heart of this playful ballet by Artistic Director Stephen Mills, based on William Shakespeare’s famous comedy of the same name. In 2002, Ballet Austin premiered this delightful work at The Kennedy Center, which commissioned Mills to create the ballet for its Youth and Family Public Performance Series. This family-friendly production, perfect for all ages, showcases Mills’ choreographic agility and his dancers’ comedic talent. Join us Mother’s Day weekend for a trip into an enchanted forest, where mortal and magical beings get mixed up looking for love, while delivering loads of laughs!
